I Parted Ways With APC Because We Failed to Keep Promises to Nigerians –Saraki

Former President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki, has said that he parted ways with the ruling All Progressive Congress because the party failed to keep promises it made to Nigerians when seeking election.

Saraki, who was speaking on Arise TV on Tuesday, said that figures of development were not in tandem with what the party pledged adding that the most honourable thing for him to do was to quit.

The former Senate President also said that the choice of the North-Central zone of the country to produce the next National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party will not foreclose the chances of any presidential aspirant from coming from any part of the country.

Answering question on the possibility of him contesting, Saraki said it is better to build a stronger political party first before deciding on personal ambitions.

He said the PDP is first focused on getting itself out of troubles in order to present Nigerians a better alternative to the APC.

He also said that if he fails to pick the presidential ticket of the PDP, he will not leave the party but wait to ensure victory for the party.
