Special Assistant, Religion (Christian) to the Kwara State Governor, Revd Samuel Adedayo has died.
It was gathered that Revd Adedayo gave up the ghost yesterday at the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospitals after a protracted illness.
A family and friends sources, who don’t want to be named, confirmed to this medium that the deceased died of cancer.
Some sources said he had been on sick bed since April this year.
A family source who preferred anonymity told National Pilot that, “he had been on sick bed since May battling with cancer, he was taken to one hospital in Lagos for some months before he came back to Kwara where he finally died at the University of Ilorin Teaching hospital. Everyone rallied round him including the governor and his deputy.”
One of his friends who do not want to be mentioned said,”
He was sick two months ago, he complained of abdominal pain with it for a very long time.”
“He went for treatment and state government played noble role. Governor sent someone to check him in the hospital and the deputy governor also. He was even taken to Lagos for treatment. After series of treatment we lost him.”
Speaking with our reporter, his brother, Elder Adedayo on phone interview yesterday, said that, “it’s not that the sickness tied him down but his sickness had been on and off. He gets sick today and gets well tomorrow, so one could not say that he’s been on a sick bed since three months.
He was not taken out of the country, but possibly out of the state for treatment.
The deceased survived by son Victor Adedayo undergraduate at one of the private universities in Abuja, his daughter Miracle Adedayo a secondary school student and wife Christianah Iyabo Adedayo.
