JAMB Football Tourney: Pedro challenges organisers on security

Security has been identified as crucial, and one of the key elements towards staging a hitch-free JAMB Tertiary Institutions football Competition.
The Kwara State Commandant of the National Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Pedro Ideba Jp, while receiving members of the MOC for the competition in his office today (Friday) also said that the competition can only achieve the purpose for which it was introduced with adequate security.
He said that NSCDC will provide the required adequate security throughout the duration of the communication.
Pedro, who also pledged to use the best of NSCDC’s manpower for the assignment, commended the MOC for making NSCDC worthy of providing security for the competition.
He commended the sponsor, JAMB for supporting the competition.
Earlier, the Chairman of the MOC, Pharmacist Kale Ayo, who said that the role of security to development cannot be undermined, seeks for maximum security before, during and after the competition.
He said that the competition was introduced to check social vices, especially among the youths.
Pharmacist Ayo, who is the State Commissioner for Sports, said that 16 institutions from the six geo-political zones will participate in the finals holding between August 20th to 27th, with the University of Ilorin and Kwara Football Academy as venues.
