Suspected hoodlum remanded in Ilorin Prison

One AbdulGaniyu Akorede of Budo Osho Tanke area, Ilorin, has been remanded in the Correctional Service Centre, for allegedly hiring hoodlums to distort peace of the community.
The said Akorede who was dragged before a Magistrate court sitting at Sango area of Ilorin, presided over by Magistrate Agaka Folorunsho, had been evading police arrest until bench warrant was issued against him by the court.
According to the police First Information Report (FIR), the matter was reported by one Habeeb Abdullahi ,who claimed to have been harassed by some suspected hoodlums hired by the defendant on a disputed site at Budo Osho.
Prompt response from the operatives of the State Criminal Investigation Department, Police State Headquarters, led to the arrest of two members of the suspected gang of hoodlums; Abdullahi Isiaq and Olarewaju Usman.
Recovered from their possessions are one sharp cutlass, wraps of dried substance suspected to be Indian hemp, one lighter among several other incriminating items.
Further police investigation revealed that the suspects were hired by the defendant to watch over the site which is subject to pending civil litigation.
Magistrate Folorunsho, after listening to the submission of the prosecutor, ordered the defendant remand while the matter was adjourned to 24th of next month.
