as management declares 7-day mourning

The immediate past senate president, Dr Bukola Saraki has said he received the breaking news of the death of Kwara state university vice chancellor,Professor Muhammed Mustapha Akanbi (SAN) with shock.
Saraki who reacted through his facebook account said the late Vice Chancellor will be remembered as a great educator with exemplary leadership qualities.
He prayed Almighty Allah to grant him a place among the righteous ones in Aljana fridaus.
Saraki’sstatementreads: ” I received with shock the loss of Kwara State University Vice Chancellor, Malete, Professor Muhammed Mustapha Akanbi (SAN).
“He will be remembered as a great educator with exemplary leadership qualities.
“May Almighty Allah (SWT) grant him a place amongst the righteous ones in Aljannah Firdaus and grant his family the strength to bear this great loss. Ameen.”
Meanwhile the management of Kwara state University, Malete has declared seven days mourning for the late Vice Chancellor.
This was contained in a press release signed on Monday by the school Registrar, Dr. Kikelomo  Sallee.
According to the statement,” As we all mourn the passing of our dear Vice Chancellor, Professor Muhammad Mustapha Akanbi SAN which sad event occurred yesterday November 20, 2022, a one week of mourning has been declared in the University.
“All activities are hereby suspended in the University from today Monday November 21 till Sunday November 27, 2022 for us to mourn this immense loss.
“I urge everyone to put the wife, children and family of Professor Akanbi in prayers as well as the University.
“May Allah forgive his sins, widen his grave and grant him admission into jannatul Firdaus.
“May the University community never again witness such an unfortunate loss.”
The Janaza prayer for the repose of Professor Muhammed Mustapha Olarongbe Akanbi SAN will hold today Monday (November 21, 2022) at Justice Mustapha Akanbi’s residence, N6 Agba Dam Street off Ahmadu Way, GRA Ilorin, by 4pm prompt.
