Celebrities who met heartthrobs on set

 

Love is indeed a beautiful and magical thing. You never know where it will find you and whom it would lead you to. The exciting part about it is, most times it comes calling when you least expect it.
Some Nigerian celebrities in the course of their jobs happened onto love.
Either way, these lucky ones while earning their pay, also ‘earned’ their best halves. Meet some celebrity couple who met and married in the course of their jobs.

Olu Jacobs and Joke Silva: Veteran actors, Olu Jacobs and Joke Silva have been able to maintain their marriage for 33 years despite being in the spotlight. Their marriage has been a source of inspiration to the younger ones in the entertainment industry.
According to Olu Jacobs, they met at the National Theatre in 1981 where he was invited to play a lead in Wole Soyinka’s “The Trials of Brother Jero.”
“When she walked in, ‘I said excuse me, ladies and gentlemen, this is the lady I am going to marry.’ You know bodies can attract and bodies can repel. I saw her and I was attracted.” Olu Jacobs said.
The couple have two sons.

Tunde and Wunmi Obe: Tunde and Wunmi Obe, who are professionally and popularly known as T.W.O (Tunde, Wunmi Obe) have been married for 20 years but have known each other for 30 years.
They are Nigerian showbiz couple, entertainers, television personalities and entrepreneurs.
The couple met and began their music career as undergraduates in the 90s. It was a professional relationship before it blossomed into a great friendship that led to marriage.
They hosted the popular 90s TV programme ‘The Charly Boy Show.’
As musicians, the couple released their debut album titled ‘Sealed,’ in 1998 and have made six albums together.

Nobert and Gloria Young: Nobert Young and Gloria Young have been married for more than a decade now. They both met on the set during Gloria’s first movie, “Glamour girls.”
Gbenro Ajibade and Osas Ighodaro-Ajibade: Both tied the knot in July, 2015. The pair met on the set of popular TV soap, Tinsel.  Speaking with PulseTv, Gbenro describes how he met his wife:
“I remember the first time they asked us (the lead cast of Tinsel) to meet with her officially at the studio welcome party they held for her. I intentionally ignored the request saying to myself “That’s pointless because I would eventually meet her on set.” lol.
The following week, we bumped into each other on the Tinsel set outdoor corridor and had a brief conversation, had lunch with the cast and realised we had a lot of common interests. One of our interests was working out so we decided to have a workout date. From there we became workout partners and in the process I noticed how much of a friend she became to me. She watched my back and stayed loyal to our friendship.” He said.
According to Gbenro, he started seeing Osas in a different light and knew that was the woman he needed in his life. The pair have a child together.

Faani Eke and Cha Cha Eke: Nollywood director and producer, Faani Eke and Charity Ekeh met in 2009 while on set shooting a movie entitled, “When Kings Decide” an Amaco production. In 2010, Faani Eke became a movie director and gave his wife her first lead role, their friendship blossomed into marriage.
The couple have been married for five years and have two children together.

Innocent and Annie Idibia: The list can’t be complete without the mention of the legendary musician, Innocent Idibia popularly known as 2baba and his wife, Annie Idibia. The pair first met at Even Ezra Music Studio when she was just 15 years old. She said “I think there was some electricity that second.” They became friends and started dating officially by the time they had shot the “African Queen” video in 2004 where she was his video vixen.
The couple who have been through rocky years together including breakups and cheating still ended up together as love they say conquers everything. They tied the knot in 2013 and have two children together.

Jason and Mary Njoku: Jason Njoku and Mary Njoku met on set at the early stage of Mary Njoku’s career as an actress. Jason Njoku is an entrepreneur, film magnate and African start up investor. He is the co-founder and C.E.O of Iroko Tv while Mary Njoku is an actress, producer and CEO of Rok Studios. The pair are indeed a power couple! They tied the knot in 2012 and have two children together.

Ibrahim and Linda Suleiman: Tinsel stars, Ibrahim Suleiman and Linda Ejiofor tied the knot in November 2018. This came as a surprise to fans and some colleagues. The pair play as lovers on popular TV series, Tinsel.
According to Linda, they were friends for some time until Ibrahim auditioned for a role on Tinsel and they both got closer, he developed feelings for her and the rest as they say is history.

Olubankole and Adesua Wellington: Popular musician, Olubankole Wellington aka “Banky W” and actress, Adesua Etomi tied the knot in November 2017. Prior to the wedding, they had both played as on-screen lovers in the record breaking movie “The Wedding Party.” Although Banky said he met her before this time but the close moments they spent on set really sealed the deal. Their engagement announcement in May 2017 broke the internet and trended worldwide on twitter. The duo had a star-studded wedding and are going strong every day.
