Police arraign suspected kidnapper in Ilorin

A suspected kidnapper has been charged before an Ilorin Magistrate Court.
The suspect, Abubakar Dude was arrested by the men of the Nigerian Police Force at a village called Kpalumangi in Patigi Local Government Area of Kwara State.
According to the charge sheet, the police got a complaint on the 3rd of October by one Abubakar Umar that while he was at home, he received a call through a particular phone number 08086008322, who threatened him to send a sum of #1.5m or else he would be kidnapped.
The report also stated that after many negotiations with the alleged conspirators, they agreed that the complainant should pay sum of N500,000.
The suspected kidnappers later instructed Umar to drop the agreed money at a particular location which would be sent to him.

However, game was over for the defendant who resides in Koro Village also in Pategi LGA, when he was apprehended by the men of the Police Anti-kidnapping Squad at the point of picking the ransom.
National Pilot also learnt during the interrogation of the defendant, that he was said to have given the complainant number to one Dankarmi, a residence of Niger State who called and demanded for the said sum of #500,000.
The court in its ruling yesterday ordered that the suspect be remanded in the Federal Correctional Center, Mandala and also adjourned the matter till 7th of next month for further mention.
