Egbejila Community protests against KWSG over abandoned road project

People of the Egbejila Airport area, in Ilorin On Friday took their grievances to the streets to protest their abandoned road project by the kwara state government.
The protesters who trooped out in large numbers to decry the deplorable state and gross negligence of their roads, said the state government is not sincere about the wellbeing of the community.
The protests moved by the insensitivity of the present APC government led administration to their travails converged and mounted a roadblock on the Egbejila Airport road to express their grievances.
The protesters seek for the immediate action by the state to rescue the situation of their road and improve the community social amenities.
Brandishing placards of various anti-government inscriptions, the protesters praised the past government under Abdulfatai Ahmed (Maigida) for constructing the first phase of the road from Agaka junction to Egbejila before handing over leadership to the incumbent.
They berated the Abdulrahman-led government for deceiving the people of the area by starting the construction of phase 2 but abandoned the project midway.
The residents also lamented that apart from the heavy taxation that the government collects from them daily, there’s nothing to show for all the revenue being generated in the area despite its economic viability.
