The owner of a cool spot in Asa-Dam Ilorin, Kwara State, simply identified Joke Queen was shocked penultimate Wednesday when she discovered that her shop had been burgled by yet to be identified thieves.
Pilot Crime gathered that the robbers had invaded the cool spot in the night and went away with cartons of beer and the pots of pepper soup that was left in the shop by the owner.
According to a salesgirl at the cool spot, Janet Akanbi, the thieves after the operation secured the door in order not to raise suspicion.
“When we got to our shop in the morning we didn’t know anything was amiss because the door was locked as we left it the night before. But, upon opening the shop we discovered that everywhere was upside down.
“There were used plates, butts of cigarettes and empty bottles of beer. The surprising thing is that they took their time to cook and eat pepper soup.
“The most painful aspect of it is that the beer that they drank and carted away were supplied to us on credit. The fishes were also bought on credit. They have thrown us into big debt now.
“The thieves took their time to operate, which means they spent hours to carry out their operation. Up till now, we don’t know how they were able to open the door and carry out their evil deed.”
She, however, said the case was not reported to the police that her boss believes God will visit the perpetrators with His wrath.
