Daudu Bala: Saraki Mourns, commiserate with Emir of Ilorin, family

Former President of the 8th Nigerian Senate, Dr. Bukola Saraki, has expressed deep sadness over the death of the Daudu Bala of Ilorin Emirate, Alhaji Salman Olarongbe Abdulkadir.

Saraki described the passing of the elder statesman as a great loss to the Ilorin Emirate and the people of Kwara State.

In a statement released by his Press Officer on Local Matters, Abdulganiyu Abdulqadir, Saraki praised the deceased’s contributions to the development of Ilorin and Kwara State, highlighting his role as an educationist and community leader.

“Alhaji Salman Olarongbe Abdulkadir, was an elder stateman and community leader who was a complete gentleman. He was always ready to give up what is dear to him so long as such sacrificial gesture would contribute to the peaceful and harmonious coexistence of the people in his immediate domain and that of Ilorin Emirate.

“He was an educationist par excellence who used his knowledge and wealth of experience to enrich the upcoming generation as a former Principal Government Teacher’s college Dogondaji, Sokoto state, 1973 to 1976 and later retired in the Ministry of Education, Sokoto State.

“His achievements marked him out for higher offices among which was his appointment as the Daudu Balla town by the Emir of Ilorin – a position he held till his last breath.”

He extended his condolences to Emir of Ilorin,HRH,Dr Ibrahim Sulu Gambari, family of the deceased, the Ilorin Emirate’s traditional council, and the entire Ilorin community, praying for divine strength and solace during this difficult time.
