Alleged Abduction: Ilorin Islamic sect, Jabata’s member to appear in court today

Ilorin Islamic sect, Jabata’s member, Jamiu Deji Iyanda will today (Monday) appear in court over allegation of abduction and burial without consent.
The case was earlier referred to State Criminals Intelligent and Investigation Department of the Kwara Police Command for proper investigation.
It would be recall that this medium had reported that Iyanda was arrested for abduction and burying a 28-year- old lady, Hanifa Bashir without her family consent.
The suspect was accused of marrying the deceased without getting the nod from her family. did Hanifa had died during child birth at the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital, penultimate week.
Meanwhile, Hanifa’s family has demanded that the suspect should disclose the whereabouts of the remains of the deceased.
Speaking to National Pilot at the weekend, the mother of deceased, Zainab Basheer said, “the police should ask him of whereabouts of Hanifa. He should provide her dead body.”
However, when contacted, the suspect declined comment on the matter, insisting that the case is under investigation.
“I have no comment, the police are doing their investigation and we are going to court on Monday. Everything will be exposed. I have told you earlier that, they are just hiding under the false allegations to wrongly accuse me.
“The truth of the matter is that they are fighting me because of my religion. I reserve my comments now on the matter till we meet in court,” he added.
Meanwhile, the FIDA team leader handling the case for Hanifa’s family, Barr. Temim Aisha confirmed that prosecution of the suspect would begin today (Monday).
