A professor of law at the University of Ilorin, Yusuf Arowosaye has said he is committed to mentoring youths and development of Pakata community in Ilorin West Local Government Area of Kwara State.
Arowosaye, who was a former counsel to the Kwara State Ministry of Justice, was last Monday elevated to the post of professor having served as senior lecturer at the University of Ilorin for over a decade.
Speaking at the civil reception and prayer organised in his honour yesterday, Arowosaye expressed gratitude to Allah and his family for the special prayer adding that his elevation is timely.
“The quest for knowledge is a continuum exercise and with this new elevation, I will strive hard to be more dedicated to the society, particularly mentoring of upcoming youths.
“Also, the university will be expecting me to do more research and engage in community services,” Arowosaye stated.
Earlier, the Secretary to the Kwara State Government, Alhaji Isiaka Gold expressed his joy over the elevation of one of his ‘younger brothers’ to a professor.
Speaking further, Gold said, “I want to congratulate you on this your achievement. At the same time, I want to implore others in the family to strive hard and emulate this success story.”
Similarly, the Magaji of Owa compound, Pakata area, Alhaji Yinus Arowosaye expressed his delight that sons and daughters of the area have continued to make the community proud.
Arowosaye joined University of Ilorin in 2002, after serving in the Kwara State Ministry of Justice.
He rose to become a senior lecturer and associate professor at the University of Ilorin.
Before now, he was a former Head of Department of Public Law in the institution, former acting Dean of Law and a former member of legal education, Abuja.
