2 remanded over forceful  snatching of motorcycle in Ilorin

The Magistrate Court sitting in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital on Monday remanded one Ayanleke Tosin and Issa Kehinde for allegedly snatching a Bajaj motorcycle from one Musa Adams at Offa Garage area.

The accused were dragged before Magistrate Omotayo Shittu for criminal conspiracy and robbery contrary to section 6 (B) and 1(I) of robbery and firearms (special provision) ACT CAP RII, law of Nigeria, 2004.

The Police First Information Report (FIR) said that, “On Friday 12 October, 2018 one Musa Adamu of Baboko area, Ilorin reported at police station on the same date at about 1200hrs that two young men stole his Bajaj motorcycle along Offa Garage area.

“The complainant said that the two young men stopped him to convey them to Oko-Olowo area, Ilorin and they concluded the price to N700. On getting to Oko-Olowo, they told him to proceed to Lasoju village, on getting to Lasoju village they asked him to turn and take them back to Offa Garage. On their way back to Offa Garage, they ordered him to stop and forcefully dispossessed him of the Bajaj motorcycle valued at N250,000.00 by strangulating his neck.”

The FIR further stated that Musa raised the alarm which made some passers-by to come to his rescue, arresting Ayanleke Tosin and Issa Kehinde of Eiyenkorin  with the motorcycle at Lasoju village.

The prosecutor, Sani Abdullahi prayed the court to remand the accused in prison pending the outcome of police investigation.

Magistrate Shittu however remanded the duo while the case was adjourned to October 30, 2018.
