Fashion designer allegedly stabs friend to death over stolen N2000
The revenue court sitting in Ilorin, the state capital has remanded a fashion designer, Tunde Kareem for allegedly stabbing his friend, one Sulu Isaika to death over stolen N2000.
The Police First Investigation Report (FIR) revealed that on 16th January, 2019, one Isiaka Bashiru of No. 140 Alimi Alore Ilorin, Kwara State reported at Divisional Police Headquarters, ‘G’ Division Ilorin, stating that on that same date, he received information that his younger brother, Isiaka of the same address has been stabbed to death by one unknown person called ‘Star boy’.
The FIR further revealed that on the strength of the information, Isiaka rushed to the scene and met his brother in a pool of blood already dead.
Investigation at the Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Ilorin revealed that Kareem was sleeping in an open place at Oko Olowo Junction, Ilorin , and his N2000 was stolen.
The Police report further stated that the accused suspected the deceased, Isaika to have stolen the money.
In the process of demanding for his money, a misunderstanding ensued between the deceased and the accused.
The Police report further added that the accused used a knife to stab Isiaka on the chest, the process which eventually led to death of the deceased.
The accused according to Police report also confessed to the crime.
He was dragged before Magistrate Hauwa Buhari for culpable homicide contrary to Sections 221 of the Penal Code.
The prosecutor, Sgt. Innocent Onoola prayed the court to remand the accused, saying the case is capital in nature and is not ordinarily bailable.
In his short ruling, Magistrate Buhari remanded the accused in prison custody while the matter was adjourned to 5th February, 2029.
