The Senator-Elect for Kwara Central Senatorial district of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Dr Yahaya Ibrahim Oloriegbe has said there is no loser among candidates that contested the poll with him on Saturday.
Oloriegbe noted that everybody, irrespective of party affiliation that took part in the contest, remain proud winners in their own right in the quest to advance the cause of the state. He spoke during a radio programme monitored in Ilorin on Tuesday.
Oloriegbe, a medical practitioner, was declared winner of the Kwara Central Senatorial contest by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Sunday after securing 123,808 to Dr Bukola Saraki’s 68,994.
Saraki has since wished all the elected APC National Assembly members best of luck in their new assignment adding that the development will allow the people of the state to compare and contrast between his leadership style and that of the newly elected members.
According to Oloriegbe, as far as the election is concerned, there is no victor, no vanquish.
“We are all winners irrespective of the party we voted, whether APC, PDP or any other party because the bottom line is that we are concerned about the progress and development of our state which is the winner in this instance.
“Now that the election is over, we were initially brothers and sisters and we remain the same after the elections”, he added. He said those elected will not only focus on party members but will make sure that Kwarans and Kwara will come first in all actions.
While thanking Kwarans for the victory, the medical practitioner solicited for their advice and prayers to make him and other elected lawmakers deliver good governance  to  the  state.
