‘Initiate God’s presence through sacrificial offerings’

By Kayode Adeoti

Christians have been urged to always appreciate God through sacrificial giving in order to provoke God’s presence in their lives.
The Minister of Youth and Discipleship of the Calvary Baptist Church, Gaa Akanbi, Ilorin, Pastor Lekan Olawepo,  gave the charge in his sermon yesterday.
The clergy who preached quoting copiously from  the book of 1 Chronicles, Chapter 1,  noted that Christians should at all times  offer  what will provoke God’s presence and blessings.
According to him, King Solomon in the Bible gave extraordinary offering  to receive the blessings of God which surpassed all understanding.
He said after Solomon had sacrificed to God hundreds of animals, God told him to ask  for whatever he wanted from Him.
“Your giving can open doors of blessings that is beyond human comprehension, giving is  tool to initiate God’s visitation, after King Solomon had given his best, God told him to ask of anything he wanted from him,” Pastor Lekan stressed.
Among those spiritual exercises the clergy said Christians should make as priority prayer altar.
He noted that anyone seeking the face of God should do so through prayers, saying Hannah who was barren in the Bible got her breakthrough through fervent prayers.
“In this generation, Christians have become so lazy to prayers, this is while things appear not working for them as expected. Some Christians cannot pray for an hour, how can such life initiate the visitations of God?,” he queried.
