Balogun Ajikobi to Youths: Shun cultism, drug abuse, internet fraud

The Chairman of Balogun Ajikobi Community Development Association (BACDA), Mallam Idris Jimoh has tasked the youth in the Kwara State to shun cultism, drug abuse and internet fraud adding that such acts can destroy their lives.
Jimoh stated this in an interview with this medium during the community’s 14th annual congress last Tuesday.
Speaking on the achievement of the association under his reign, the Chairman said BACDA as part of its social responsibilities continued to promote and improve the educational standard of the teeming youths in secondary school or higher institutions of learning. “Procurement of four computer sets, printer, generator, with addition of three sets of computer donated by Mr. Yusuf Baba Abdulraheem Ajikobi. We have also solicited for admission into higher institution of learning, paid school fees and doled out scholarship to the young ones in order to complement their parent’s efforts.”
He added that through BACDA some youths have been gainfully employed at both federal and state level.
“We have also empowered, provide health care services, community infrastructure services in partnership with the state government, private body and NGOs to facilitate community needs,” he added.
Highlight of the occasion included presentation of awards to some distinguished members of the community.
Among the awardees were; Alhaji Balewa Mustapha Ajikobi, Alhaji Oba Aliyu Ajikobi, Adebayo Adelodun, SAN, Alhaji Sidiq Mannah, Alhaji Ibrahim Bolaji Ajikobi, the first Balogun of Ajikobi late, Alh Usman Ajikobi among others. Speaking with our reporter, Alhaji Garba Ajikobi appreciated the community for recognising him even as he called for unity and peace among the members.
Also speaking, Alhaja Aishat Ona Olapo Olola charged youths of the community to work harder and emulate their mentor in promoting the community and serve as ambassador of Ajikobi community in home and abroad.
Popular Islamic preacher, Sheikh Buhari Musa during his sermon, charged members of the community to build their family with love adding that they should join forces to fight any act of indiscipline.
