Kwara police arrests 2 for stealing Crown Hill University’s property

T he Kwara State Police command has nabbed Saliman Abdulfatai and Hammed Bashirat for allegedly stealing property belonging to Crown Hill University, Eyenkorin, Ilorin, last Thursday.
The duo and one Waheed Ibrahim, who is at large. were said to have broken into the university and carted away electronics and furniture.
The items stolen were three LG Plasma Television 42 inches valued at N525,000; a refrigerator worth N42,000 and some metals and plastic chairs.
It was gathered that Ibrahim of Tapa Village in Eyenkorin, a staff of the institution, conspired with the other two suspects to perpetrate the act.
Pilot Crime learnt that some of the stolen items were found in the shop of one of the suspects, Hammed of Magaji’s Compound of Tapa Village while the refrigerator was recovered from the father of Ibrahim, at Saliman.
According to Police source, the case was reported at the Area Command by the Chief Security Officer of the University, Mathias Azogwa, a retired Assistant Commissioner of Police.
“We began investigation into the case and a search was conducted, upon search, the items which were marked were recovered from the victims, which led to their arrest.
“The suspects confessed to the crime and investigation is still on for the suspects to reveal the where about of the principal suspect,” he added.
When contacted, the state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ajayi Okasanm, said he is yet to be informed of the case.
