The paramount king of Ife-Olukotun, HRH Oba Shuiab Aiyegbajeje Mohammed, has installed Prophet Olusegun David Obabiolorunkosi as the new Elesho of the ancient town in Yagba East Local Government Area of Kogi State.
The coronation which took place recently at the palace of Olukotun, saw the new high chief ascending the traditional Chief of Staff to the king of the town.
The new Elesho who was chosen on 14th February, 2022 was formally coronated on 27th December, 2022. The position is one the top five high chiefs (Irarun) of Ife-Olukotun kingdom, namely; Olukotun, Akogun, Elesho, Alaira and Obamla.
Prophet Obabiolorunkosi, born about five decades ago, trained as an accountant, had other professional qualifications and members of professional bodies, notable among them is Institute of Chartered Bank of Nigeria (CIBN).
In a brief chat with National Pilot, High Chief Elesho, said the love to improve the wellbeing of his people and general development of the Ife-Olukotun kingdom, particularly empowerment of youths were the paramount reasons he accepted to ascend the position of his forebears.
The former school teacher and banker is married and blessed with children.
