Ita-amo/Oloje protest: ENetSuD discloses preliminary information on Yebumot –Adeta –Oloje road

Following the protest of Oloje and Ita-amo communities members on Wednesday that took their grievances to the street over the road abandoned project in their areas, an anti-corruption Civil Society Organisation known as Elite Network for Sustainable Development (ENetSuD), has considered it necessary to let members of the public have some preliminary information on the contract of Yebumot – Adeta – Oloje road in Ilorin West LGA that was awarded by the Kwara State Government (KWSG).
This was disclosed in the press statement released on Wednesday by the Director of Investigation and Public Petition (Kwara Central),
Elites Network for Sustainable Development (ENetSuD), Comrade Gambari Volvo that the contract was awarded on 22nd December 2021 by the KWSG to JMK Construction Company Ltd.
According to him, the contract sum was One Billion, Six Hundred and Ten Million, Four Hundred Seventy-Seven Thousand, Five Hundred and Nine-Nine Naira (₦ 1,610,477,599).
“In the contract award letter, the agreed completion period of the project was ten (10) months, meaning that the project was expected to have been completed since October 2022.
“The approved length of the road is 4,779 meters, while the average width is 18.8 meters.” The statement reads.
ENetSuD assures the members of the public that every item on the Bill of Engineering Measurement and Evaluation (BEME) approved for the project will be disclosed in a series of publications for citizens’ understanding
