Leke James hits brace; Ighalo injured in Al-Shabab loss

It was a mixed day for Nigerian players in the Saudi Arabian Professional League with the duo of Leke James and Stanley Ohawuchi impressing for their clubs whilst Odion Ighalo got subbed after picking up an injury.
At the Prince Mohammed Bin Fahad Stadium in Dammam, the duo of Leke James and Stanley Ohawuchi started for home side Al-Qadisiyah as they played out an entertaining 3-3 draw against visiting Al-Ain.
The hosts however started the better of both teams when Stanley was brought down in the box after a challenge from the goalkeeper but Hassan Al-Amir’s penalty was saved by the goalkeeper to leave scores at 0-0.
The penalty miss then proved costly as the visitors took the lead after the half-hour mark via the boots of Hussain Halawani but the lead barely lasted as the impressive Leke James headed home the equalizer for 1-1.
The visitors again took the lead in the second period, this time via the spot when Brazilian forward Getterson stepped up to make it 2-1 after 73 minutes to put the hosts behind for the second time in the clash.
But just like the first half, the hosts leveled matters three minutes later when the duo of James and Ohawuchi combined with the latter keeping his composure to grab his brace and make it 2-2.
The visitors then went ahead for the third time in the game when Amadou Moutari fired them ahead with 11 minutes left but the host stole a point deep into added time when Carolus Andria finished off from close range to make it 3-3.
James was deservedly named the man of the match with a big rating of 8.6, with the striker finally getting off the mark after 6 attempts in the league.
Elsewhere at the King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah, former Manchester United striker Odion Ighalo had a night to forget as he lasted just 31 minutes in his side 2-1 away loss at Al-Ittihad.
