By Kayode Adeoti

Worried by the protracted crisis that has threatened the existence of the People Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara State, the two factional chairmen, Iyiola Oyedepo and Prince Sunday Fagbemi have been summoned to Abuja, Pilot Politics has learnt.
They are to meet with the Chairman of the Caretaker Committee of the party, Senator Ahmed Makarfi on Monday (today)
This medium learnt that the factional chairmen have been directed to come along with ten members of their camps each,
Those reportedly on Oyedepo’s train include former state deputy governor, Joel Ogundeji, Professor Oba Abdulraheem, Alhaji LAK Jimoh among others.
On the entourage of Fagbemi are Barr. Kunle Sulyman, Elder Ayinla Folorunsho, Iliasu Alabi, Alhaja Kudirat Alabi, Alhaji Abdulganiyu Yusuf Alawo, Iliasu Ibrahim and others.
A source who spoke to this medium from Abuja last night disclosed that the party leadership under Makarfi is working towards putting an end to the crisis in the Kwara chapter of the PDP by reconciling the warring factions.
He stressed that the effort of the caretaker chairman is geared towards repositioning the party for better performance in the forthcoming local government polls in the state and subsequent elections.
“We are in Abuja now, Makarfi summoned Oyedepo and Fagbemi for a meeting, he wants to reconcile the factions for better electioneering in the state against the forthcoming polls. Ten members from each camp are to come with their leader in order to facilitate smooth discussion,” the source added.
It was further learnt that the meeting will be held at the party secretariat,  Wadada Plaza in the morning.
Meanwhile, the Fagbemi led faction has denied endorsement of the proprietor of Sobi FM, Lukman Mustapha as the party flag bearer for the 2019 gubernatorial poll in the state.
This was disclosed in a statement signed by the party Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Abdulganiyu Yusuf Alawo and made available to Pilot Politics yesterday.
It stressed that Mustapha is not known in the party and by record not a member of the party, adding that he has never participated in activities nor contribute to the growth of Kwara PDP.
The statement claimed   that Mustapha had sponsored a media in the state to announce his political ambition so as to be fielded by the party for the gubernatorial race, describing the development as laughable and condemnable.
“What happened to our dependable members who had dedicated their time, energy and hard earned resources for the stability of the party in the state,” the statement read.
