The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirant in Kwara State, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi has said that he was not betrayed by the Senate President and leader of the party, Dr.ย  Bukola Saraki.
He said his loyalty to the political ideology and leadership of Saraki was purely on principle and not on any political reward or aggrandisement.
Bolaji, who is the former spokesman of the APC, stated this while reacting to the fallout of last PDP primary election which saw the emergence of Hon Rasak Atunwa as the party’s flag bearer for 2019 governorship election.
According to Abdullahi, Saraki did not betray him in the election as being speculated in the public.
“Whatever sacrifices I have made in the past were based on my personal principles, and not contingent on expectations of any reward.
“I remain a loyal member of the Saraki political family under the leadership of Dr. Bukola Saraki,โ€ he said adding that though the outcome of the primaries may have been disappointing, he has โ€œaccepted it as the will of Allahโ€.
He stressed that, โ€œthere are many factors at play in politics. Therefore, interpreting what happened as betrayal is not correct. My leader, Dr. Bukola Saraki, did not betray me.
“Whatever sacrifices I have made in the past were based on my personal principles, and were not contingent on expectations of any reward. I remain a loyal member of the Saraki political family under the leadership of Dr. Bukola Saraki,” Abdullahi said.
