Ahead of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential primary slated for Saturday in Port-Harcourt, various opinion polls and predictions are pointing towards the Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki to pick the ticket.
Saraki, who has embarked on a vigorous campaign across the country has emerged the leading aspirant ahead of other strong political forces like former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, former Governor of Kano State and Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, former Governor of Kaduna State, Senator Ahmed Makarfi and former Governor of Jigawa State, Alhaji Sule Lamido among others.
Of late, there have been numerous predictions by some clergymen many of whom are not from his Kwara or geo political zone but had prophesied Saraki’s eventual emergence despite all the political persecution against him.
Recently, popular blind cleric, Prophet Moses Muyideen Kasali who is the General Overseer of the Mountain of Mercy (Ori-Oke Alaseyori) said political witch-hunt of Saraki and trumped up charges against him may end up taking him to greater heights in Nigerian politics.
During the seventh anniversary of his church special fasting and prayer programme scheduled to mark his birthday at the church’s headquarters in Ojedeji community, Akinyele Local Government Area of Ibadan, Oyo State, Kasali prophesied that Saraki would be pushed eventually to become Nigeria President.
About few weeks later, another Prophet and founder of OTJ ministries, Apostle Omotosho Tope Joseph, said the Hand of God is on Saraki as political parties gear up for 2019 election.
In a chat with newsmen in Lagos Saturday, Omotosho reeled out what he termed fresh prophecies according to the leading of God.
This is the second prophecy he will be making in favour of the Senate President following his recent prediction on the Supreme Court victory.
In the latest series, the clergyman who said he had never met Saraki before predicted more defections especially from the governors to other parties that will lead to huge power tussle between them and their deputies adding that there is going to be lots of surprises.
“I see the Hand of God upon Saraki. Thank God I have never had an encounter with him before but while praying I saw the hand of God upon his life. I see 2019 election won’t be a do-or-die affair as speculated.”
Aside the prophecies, there had also been many internet polls conducted on twitter by different activists that predicted Saraki will not only emerge candidate of the party but would go ahead to defeat President Muhammadu Buhari in next  year’s election.
Bolanle Cole (@bolanle_cole) who requested respondents to shun abusive words in their responses but on current performance and leadership skills noted that Saraki has become the most discussed politician in the country lately and has dominated the media space and online platforms.
