32 players, 4 crew to represent Kwara at National U-18 Handball championship

 

Thirty two players and four officials are to represent Kwara State at the forthcoming National U-18 and U-21 Handball Championship scheduled for Lagos beginning from the 16th to the 23rd of March.
The players will participate in the boys and girls categories.
The State Director of Sports, Mallam Tunde Kazeem who disclosed this yesterday in Ilorin while receiving four Handball players from the State that represented the Nation at the International Handball Championship held in Niamey, Niger Republic.
Mallam Kazeem commended the brilliant performance of the four players Sidiq Muinat Aduke, Nuhu, Wuraola Ashyahu,  Abdulrasaq Babamale Idowu and Yusuf Muhinat at the Championship.
The Nigerian ladies beat the host Niger Republic in the final to win gold at the event.
The Director praised the girls for doing the State and the Nation proud which led to the invitations of three other players Olosasa Shukurat, Ibrahim Taiye Balikis and Ibrahim Kehinde Maryam from the State to the National team.
He stated that the State Handball Coach, Isiaka Atanda has also been invited for the Coaches Education and officiating seminar scheduled for the 12th to the 15th of March in Lagos.
Mallam Kazeem charged the players not to relent in their chosen career and strive to excel in the championship.
The Director of Sports appreciated the Chairman and members of the State Handball Association and the Secretary of the Handball Federation of Nigeria, Alhaji Haruna Maigidansanmo for their support, encouragement and passion for the development of Handball in the State and the Nation.
He called on individuals and corporate bodies to contribute their quota to the development of Sports and Youth.
