Saraki dissociates self from Kwara Gov’s 100 Days assessment report

... reiterates commitment to youths’, women empowerment

Former Senate President, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki has distanced
himself from a report credited to him on the assessment of 100 days in
office of Kwara State Governor, Alhaji Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq.
Governor Abdulrazaq, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate in
the 2019 general elections had last week celebrated his 100 days in
office.
Reacting to the report, Saraki’s media office described it as
ill-motivated, ill-conceived and false story adding that it emanated
from some mischievous elements in the society.
In a statement at the weekend said, “The attention of the Media Office
of former Senate President, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki has been drawn
to a poorly written story published on some unknown WhatsApp Groups in
which Dr. Saraki was being quoted to have given an assessment of the
100 days in office of the present government in Kwara State.
“We hereby dissociate Dr. Saraki from the ill-motivated, ill-conceived
and false story which we believe was the handiwork of some mischievous
elements in the society.”
The statement added that the former Kwara State governor has not
spoken to anybody, either privately or publicly, on his assessment of
the present administration.
“We therefore call on all Nigerians to disregard that story as Dr.
Saraki has nothing to do with it.”

… reiterates commitment to youths’, women empowerment

The immediate past Senate President, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki has
reiterated his commitment to youths and women empowerment across Kwara
State.
Speaking during the presentation of certificates to 700 graduates of
Solar Energy Training Programme, across the 52 wards of Kwara Central,
on Saturday, Saraki said the gesture was to dissuade the youth from
taking to social-vices and be self reliant.
Saraki, who was represented by his former Senior Legislative Aide,
Hajia Muibat Alabi (widely known as Mako), said, over 200 others were
trained in make-up and other vocations for six months in 2018.
“Today’s event is another step towards ensuring that our youths are
well engaged and self reliant. For six months, through a programme
facilitated and sponsored by Dr Bukola Saraki, the youth were trained
in different vocations such as; Solar Energy, make-up, bead making,
liquid soap, vegetable farming, Kampala, among other vocations.
“We believe any youth that is meaningfully engaged by learning a
vocation is unlikely to take to crime and criminality.
“Our leader remains committed to developing and empowering our women
and youths. With this development, he has proven his undying love for
the people of the state,” she stated.
To ensure the progress of the beneficiaries, Mako said, “We will
continue to monitor their progress through regular meetings.
“We will be holding meeting with them twice in a month and anytime
there is a contract, we will try and share such job among the
graduates.
“With patronage from the state government and well-meaning individuals
in the state, these young men and women will contribute meaningfully
to the society.”
Alabi however expressed her unalloyed support to the Saraki dynasty
even as she charged the present administration to emulate the
achievements of her principal.
On her assessment of the present administration after 100 days in
office,” It may be too early to rate the present administration
especially if you consider the fact that there is still a long way to
go.”
