Kwara Open Golf Championship kicks off Nov. 7

All is now set for the 2017 edition of Kwara Open Golf Championship sponsored by Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed as the promise made during the closing ceremony of the Kwara @ 50 Open Golf Championship to revamp the event.
The championship slated for 7th to 11th of November 2017, on Ilorin golf course will see the who is who in golf from golf clubs across the country converge in Ilorin again in the spare of three months for the six day event.
In a release Co- signed by the club captain Pharmacist Kayo Maliki and the CEO Sloqfort Nig Ltd, the consulting outfit organizing the event Lukman Owolewa, says several corporate bodies have identified with the event that will feature both professional and amateur categories of golfer.
BUA Groups who were the title sponsor of the Kwara @ 50 Championship have also identified with the Kwara Open event. Other corporate bodies include Sterling Bank, Medview Airlines, Sorrel and Kwara State Government.
On his part, the Captain of the club Layi Maliki, thanked the Governor who is also the club’s Grand Patron Dr. Abdulfatah Ahmed for making good his promises of bringing back to life the championship which is now in its 5th edition and assured golfers of a worthwhile golfing experience.
The competition will tee – off on Tuesday 7th of November with the professionals and category one amateurs taking to the course. Their event will be rounded up on Friday 10th, while other categories of amateur, ladies and veterans will fight for honours Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th November 2017.
Expected to perform the ceremonial tee off on Saturday is the Executive Governor of the state Dr. Abdulfatah Ahmed while the NGF President Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola is expected to take part in the event.
Presentation of prizes and closing ceremony will come up 7p.m on Sunday 12th November 2017 at the Ultramodern Muhammed Lawal clubhouse.
