Owolabi Table Tennis final holds today
T he final of the 8th edition of Sola Owolabi Table Tennis Championship, which kicked off on Staurday will hold today, Monday at the Kwara Stadium Complex, Ilorin.
According to the Kwara State Table Tennis Coach, Aiyelabegan Kehinde, the tournament being sponsored by Owolabi, who is the Director of Sollamp Oil Ltd is organised to celebrate the birthday anniversary of the oil business guru.
The 2018 edition of the pin pon game featured the professionals, amateurs, male and female table tennis players both within and outside the state.
In the Paralympic women class 6-10 standing final, Aminat Ganiyu will lock on with Aminat Adisa, while the Paralympic men class 6-10 standing final will feature Igioye Emanuel.
Taiye Oyinloye, who won Kwara her only gold medal at the just concluded National Sports Festival in Abuja will play Abibat Ibrahim in the Paralympic women class 1-5 sitting final and Tunde Maleek play Ganiyu Yusus in the same category.
In the junior boy’s single, Abdulbasit Abdulfatai will face Afeez Yunus, Aishat Ahmed will hold Awawu Saidu in the junior girl’s single final.
Taiye Jimoh and Bunmi Dunmoye face each other in the men single final, while Aiyelabegan Sukurat and Asaju Bisola will meet in the women singles final that is expected to start by 2pm on Monday.
Owolabi, who is the Chairman of Kwara State Table Tennis Association and other dignitaries will grace the final match slated today, Monday, 24th at the Indoor Hall of the Kwara Stadium Complex, Ilorin.
