Daniel gradually becoming a better Dele Aiyenugba
The name Dele Aiyenugba will ring a bell as one of the few players to have represented at all age grade competitions and the Super Eagles.
The Hapoel Ashkelon goalkeeper will also be remembered for saving penalty kicks as a substitute when Enyimba won the CAF Champions League in 2003 and 2004.
Well like father like son, Dele seemed to have passed his goalkeeping and penalty saving heroics to his son, Daniel Aiyenugba as the skipper of the North Central U-13 team saved two penalty kicks in the final game of Zenith Bank U-13 Future Eagles tourney in Abuja, at the weekend.
Daniel after lifting the trophy said his father Dele is his role model.
”My father is my role model and he has been encouraging me to play football.
”He corrects my mistakes and also buys me kits.
”I’m happy we won this competition and I’m hoping to be a better goalkeeper, so that I can play outside the country,” the Stephen Fountain Primary School,” Ilorin pupil was quoted to have said.
