Our party set to receive APC members, supporters – Kwara PDP stalwart

A People’s Democratic Party (PDP) stalwart in Kwara South, Richard Babatunde, has said the party was set to receive stalwarts of the All Progressive Congress (APC) and their supporters in Kwara South Senatorial District into its fold
Speaking with selected journalists in Ilorin on Monday, he said the APC members had been the target of the PDP to swell its rank in the area, adding that the official day for their defection would be formally announced.
He listed the decampees as Mr Olabode Towoju, who contested the Isin/Ekiti/ Irepodun/Oke-Ero constituency’s House of Representatives primaries under the APC in the 2015 general election and Tunji Olawuyi (Ajuloopin), a one-time House of Reps aspirant from Irepodun together with their supporters.
He said that the APC has not fulfilled its promise of democratic dividends for the citizenry especially the civil servants despite the Paris club released for same purpose by President Muhammadu Buhari led administration.
He added that the salary situation was inimical to the progress of the state and noted that the payment of one month full salaries to civil servant was not based on sincerity.
He said the development was a fall out of the Local Government election held in the state last year.
Babatunde called on the people of Kwara especially, the Kwara south to take their destiny in their hands and vote for people who truly have their interest at heart, adding that that was the only way they could enjoy democratic dividends.
He said the APC which was collectively brought to power had disappointed Nigerians and the people of the state.
