Christians tasked on philanthropy

Pastor Gideon Majekodunmi of Vine Parish, Redeemed Christian Church of God, Olorunsogo, Ilorin, Kwara State has noted that the world would be a better place if Christians embark on philanthropy.

In his sermon at the monthly Anointing Service held at the church auditorium, penultimate Sunday, he harped on the need for believers to show love to others through acts of giving and lending helping hands.

Pastor Majekodunmi stressed that God blesses those who help the needy and less privileged, adding that it is whatever one sows that would be reaped.

While imploring his church members to inspire hope in the hopeless and helpless in this New Year through philanthropic gesture, he urged them to also contribute financially to the propagation of God’s work.

The pastor said Christians should be faithful in the remittance of their tithe, stressing that it is a biblical injunction that must be obeyed by all believers.

Speaking on the topic “You Shall Laugh Last,’ he assured that through the mercy of God believers shall overcome the vicissitudes of life.

Citing examples of the blind Batimeaus in the Bible who regained his sight through miracle of Jesus, he advised members of his congregation to seek solution to their problems from Christ.

The cleric also pointed that Jesus is the solution to the myraid of challenges confronting the country, just as he called on Christians to intercede on behalf of the nation.

 


…urged to focus on God for breakthrough

A Cleric, Pastor Ola-Olu Adeyemo has called on Christians to be steadfast and focus in their worship of the most high God to overcome the challenges of life.

Pastor Adeyemo made the call on Sunday in his sermon delivered at the Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church, Ilorin District Headquarters.

The Cleric who spoke on the theme “Power for exploits,” charged them to be faithful and serve God wholeheartedly all the times.

He urged Christians to be prayerful and belief strongly in the power of Jesus Christ to turn things around for better.

Pastor Adeyemo prayed for positive change in the life of the people and the nation.

Speaking on the theme: “Acceptable Worship To God” Reverend Joseph Agboluaje of Second ECWA Shao, charged Christians to worship God in spirit and in truth.

Reverend Agboluaje mentioned six things God hates in worship, which include worship of other god with Him, act of disobedience to His divine order, worship with lips and not with heart, the kind of dress code not befitting His presence and anyhow worship which was not acceptable to God.

Pastor Taiye Aransiola of United Evangelical Miracle Church, off Yidi road, Ilorin who spoke on the topic “Fit for destiny fulfillment,” noted that God wants His people to be fit to win the battle of life and fulfill our destiny.

Pastor Aransiola urged Christians to be spiritually, mentally, economically, emotionally and morally fit to win the battle of life.

Prophet Peter Kolawole Williams of C. A. C Faith Chapel along Asa-dam road, Ilorin emphasised the need for Christians to emulate Jesus Christ in their way of life.

In her message at the ongoing annual beginning of the year prayer programme, entitled “Good morning Jesus”, Prophetess Cecilia lbrahim of C & S Church Olorun-lsadi, Gaa-lmam implored Christians to look unto God for divine upliftment as the Alpha and Omega of our faith.

Also, Pastor Aremu Abioye of the Ark of God Covenant Faith Bible Ministry, Amoyo warned faithfuls against hate speeches urging them to let their utterance be holy at all times.

The General Overseer of the New Life Holy‎ Trinity Chapel, Gaa-Akanbi, Pastor ldowu Constain challenged Nigerians to let the fear of God be their watchword.
