“Only for three 3 years, we don suffer oo”
Onitsha goat seller, Amaechi na true you talk
Kai, APC Ambassadors talk am
No, na Aisha don see am tee tee
You mean DG Amaechi self talk am too
APC said, it was used out of context
But Nigerians dey ask, ‘where original copy dey’?
To Poet; ‘it may not be insulting but audacious’
Int’l audience; interesting, but discomforting
APC: We are consulting
PDP: We are watching
Nigerians; ‘it is very instructing’
To me, it is not funny

Truth is either considered as terrible or boring because many often do not know which nomenclature will be appropriate or otherwise in the classification of ‘Amaechi’s audio’ recordings. Truly, ‘Eyin lohun’, a popular proverbial phrase among the Yorubas, left many to ruminate on how a less than thirty minutes audio conversation can turn messy’…details of which the two stanzas poem narrates. Congratulations or condolences, obviously, a pregnant woman must receive either when she put to bed, but only God knows which one Amaechi is receiving by now. Never appeal to truth and reality unless you are prepared for the anger that comes from disenchantment, simple truth the subject refused to abide.
It is glaring, watching is not seeing, Nigerians are now more aware on what lies beneath. Imagine, not many of Buhari’s ministers or advisers see what the Rivers State-born former first citizen saw, but still, he went ahead to align with his Yoruba name, Rotimi – ‘Stand by Me’ and said the obvious truth. Good liars or bad liars, he refused to be slave to the truth. His first and last names are Igbo meaning “God is strength or power” and “who knows tomorrow” respectively, Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi was born in Ubima, Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State.
Now back to his statement, the belief all over is once a person is in the know, it is no more secret; that doesn’t require any special wisdom to understand; many said that Ameachi wants it made public and that is the only reason he let the cat out of the bag, he knows it is likely recorded, a former governor, now serving minister and DG of a campaign organisation should know better.
The walls have ears, but apparently, shrubbery does too, never allow people with nose for news when ‘media blackout’ is necessary, or off record, for such that are meant to be secret scenes…though he allegedly warned but never took it serious himself.
But when saying the truth becomes offensive, then, it has no apology – many tweeted and stood by Amaechi on his statement that ‘Nigerians should all die before Nigeria can get better’….but do you agree too? Will that not be a bad question to ask ourselves, yes or no, I am of the belief that loyal service demands telling not only the bitter but, and even the hard truths.
The assumption is that we all enjoy what we are good at, but if you ask me, some people don’t, ask the Minister of Transportation and the Director-General of the Muhammadu Buhari Presidential Campaign Organisation in his series of audio recordings, threatened to bar journalists from events if the audio is leaked; you can imagine!
Many believe that if you talk too much, you are likely to say something stupid and foolish and at the end put yourself at the mercy of your listeners, if not, ask 48 Laws of Power.
In one of the recordings, Amaechi purportedly said, “the President is not listening to anybody. He doesn’t care. You can write anything you want. The President doesn’t care. Does he read?”
Indeed, in the heart of every legend lives the truth, “three years of Buhari oo, everybody is crying, crying…pressmen are crying, farmers are crying, workers are crying, politicians are crying, students are crying, three years oo! “the rate of poverty is very high. People are hungry. Nigeria will divide!”….that was how Reno Omokri, a former aide to ex-president Goodluck Jonathan, posted the clips on his page.
True, true, ‘Kaya man wise pass his master, but na condition bend crayfish’, this is how many see Amaechi saga down south, ask Onitsha goat seller who knows that Amaechi, in the middle of the matter, knowing the truth need not make up the story. I now agreed that truly, life can be seen in two ways, a comedy or tragedy; comedy is for those who think, while tragedy is for people who feel it.
What a ‘beautiful mess’, if to be honest, this Amaechi’s audio saga is ‘making me high’ – that was my response to a friend’s message who wanted to know my reaction over the incidence. It takes more than courage to admit fear so it is also with mistake…if truly it was a slip of tongue, though Amaechi is yet to refute these or set the records straight, but many believe silence means acceptance though he should not forget that actions has consequences.
As it was in the beginning……, so said the scripture, according to how it went in Ghana, a neighbouring West Africa country. The executions were dramatic events in his country’s history, which had suffered few instances of political violence and later implemented a much wider “house-cleaning exercise” involving the killings and abduction of over 300 countrymen.
With enviable Curriculum Vitae, his family had little influence over his ideology, belonging to Nzema and Ewe of a West African country. Imagine! He arranged the execution by firing squad of military officers and three former heads of state, including Supreme Court justices, who were also sent to the great beyond. In fact, his lack of a prominent lineage became a political advantage for him. As many are of the opinion that Amaechi was referring to somebody who happens to be the Jerry Rawlings of Nigeria, but unfortunately, many did not agree with him; music being played has deaf audiences around, I pity Chibuike!
