Retd perm secs urge state govs to clear salary backlog

The Kwara State Association of Retired Permanent Secretaries has urged states governors to emulate Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed in clearing salary backlogs of the core civil servants in their respective states.
Speaking shortly after their meeting held at the Banquet hall, Ilorin, recently, the Coordinator, Mrs. Bosede Ikeoluwa Orunmuyi also advised civil servants in Kwara to be committed to their duties to ensure implementation of government policies.
Speaking further she called for enrolment of more members and active participation.
“In an attempt to sort funding, we decided to deduct one per cent of our monthly pension as contribution for the development of the association.
“We have also adopted the amended constitution of the association as one of the few states in the country to have achieved this.
“Additionally, we have gone on to design the logo that will be used in our letter headed paper and some of our documents for genuine outlook,” she disclosed adding that the association has been creating awareness through the media for better participation.
