Kwara wins Moje National U-13 boys/U-18 boys championship
Kwara State has won the maiden edition of Moje National U-13 Boys/U-18 Girls Soccer tournament organised by Youth Sports Federal of Nigeria (YSFON), Kwara chapter.
Kwara Ladies beat their opponents from Ondo 2-0, while the U-13 boys defeated Osun with the same margin in the final match played on Saturday at Erin-Ile Secondary School play ground.
The final match, which was witnessed by thousands of soccer fans in Erin-Ile community enjoyed good soccer artistry from the two sides.
In the male category, Juwon Adebayo from Osun emerged as the best most valuable player, while the highest goal scorer went to Saheed Adams and Sheyi Ajayi won the best coach of the tournament, both are from Kwara state.
Kwara state swept all the awards in the female category. Bilikis Sumanu named as the most valuable player, Jimoh Abubakar is the highest goal scorer and Coach Samuel Abejide won the best coach of the tournament.
Speaking at the final match, the state YSFON Chairman, Prince Ademola Kiyesola promised that the programme would be better organised, come next year.
He congratulated the winners of the event, as he reiterated that they would represent Nigeria in Germany in 2019 at the international championship.
The final match was graced by many dignitaries, including the Kwara Football Association Chairman, Malam Busari Ishola, his Secretary, Mr. Kehinde Jimoh and others.
