Ilorin airport gets new airspace Manager
By Matthew Denis
In a bid to strengthen airspace safety, the Nigeria Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) has deployed a new airspace manager to Ilorin International Airport. He is Engr. Jude Eni.
The airspace manager takes over from Engr. Rotimi Ayeni who has been redeployed to man Port Harcourt airport.
Speaking to Pilot Aviation at the weekend, Eni assured commitment to discharge his responsibility efficiently and live up to expectation.
He added that in collaboration with the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), his management would enhance safety of the airspace.
He called on members of the public to cooperate with the airport authority and security agencies in order to achieve ultimate safety of the country’s airspace at large.
Meanwhile, the Kwara State government has begun construction of the abandoned NAMA administrative building at the airport.
Recall that the airspace building was abandoned some years ago by the state government when it had reached 70 percent completion.
An attempt to get the Senior Special Assistant on Media and Communications to the Governor, Dr. Muideen Akorede to comment on the development was unsuccessful as he simply said ‘ I will get back to you,’ when our correspondent put a call through to him, over the weekend.
