Police arrests 5 for stealing cows

Men of Kwara State Police Command have arrested five persons for allegedly stealing six cows from a ranch, penultimate Friday.
The suspects are Yau Ibrahim of Ojoku Fulani camp; Umar Sumaila; Abdulganiyu Suleiman; Azeez Aremu and one Isiaka whose surname could not be ascertained as at the time of filing this report.
The suspects who were said to be farmers, cattle rearer and butchers carted away the cows valued at N900,000.
According to a police source, the case was reported at “G” divisional police station, Oloje area by Ibrahim Seriki of Babakini area of Ogidi that some robbers broke into his ranch and carted away six cows
” He traced the foot prints from the ranch to the house of Abdulganiyu. When he went back to the suspect’s house he met Aremu and Isiaka , who were there with a bus to convey the cows to another destination.
The source disclosed that during interrogation Ibraheem confessed that they sold one of the cows at the rate of N100,000.
The source further said that the suspect confessed to have alongside his gang members, stolen cows belonging to one Idris Mohammed Ojoku Fulani camp , Offa.
The source added that investigation is still ongoing to get their accomplices particularly buyers of the stolen cows.
