Ijehu Community Land Tussle: Court restrains Olofa

Justice Abiodun Adebara of Offa High Court in Offa Local Government Area of Kwara State, has granted an interim injunction, restraining the Olofa of Offa, Oba Mufutau Gbadamosi Esuwoye II, his agents, privies, servants, or anyone claiming title through or taking instruction from the monarch from further encroaching on the Ijehu community land.
The judge also restrained the Olofa or his agents from committing any act of trespass on the land or from dealing with the land in any manner adverse to the applicant’s claim as a whole or any part thereof pending the hearing and final determination of the motion on notice in the case.
These were contained in a court document signed by the Registrar of the court, Yinusa Suleiman, which was made available to journalists in Ilorin, last Thursday.
The document further explained that the land situated along Ikotun Road shares boundary with Igboidun village, Ikotun, Ojoku and Ola’s compound in Offa.
Alhaji Moshood Adeogun who is the claimant/applicant, had on behalf of the people of Ijehu community, dragged Olofa before the court in suit No: KWS/OF/13/2018.
Adeogun’s counsel, Surajudeen Bamidele, in an exparte motion prayed the court to restrain the monarch from trespassing into the land.
The judge after listening to the argument granted an interim injunction against Olofa and adjourned the matter till June 11, for hearing of the motion on notice.
