Obtain firearm license, Kwara CP advices vigilantes

 

The Kwara State Police Commissioner, Aminu Saleh Pai has advised members of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria (VGN) to obtain license in order to operate seamlessly.

He gave the advice when members of the state branch of the VGN led by state Director of Intelligence of the group, DSP Alhaji Saka Ibrahim (retd) paid courtesy visit to the CP at the police headquarters recently.

The CP who stressed that nobody has the right to use firearm without license, urged the local security operatives to carry the police along in their operations

He tasked the vigilantes to ensure they hand over arrested suspects to the police, calling for their cooperation at all times.

He, however, commended the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Honourable Ali Ahmad for logistics support to the state VGN through the donation of motorcycles to boost fight against crime.

Speaking, the state Director of Intelligence of the group assured that the group will work hand in hand with police in order to fight crime to a standstill.

He also charged his members to abide by rules and regulation guiding their operations and obtain firearm license in order to discharge their responsibility effectively.

He urged members of the public to help their operation by volunteering information that can lead to crime bursting in the state.

Ibrahim thanked the CP for his support to the group, pledging that the group will not relent in its efforts at fighting crime.
