The Ilorin West chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has inaugurated the new executive members of the party.
The exercise for the 26 officials was held at the party’s secretariat on Friday with Executive members of the party selected in the political wards that make up the council.
Members of the State Working Committee inaugurated included Alhaji Mohammed Aminullahi Akota, chairman; Alhaji Obalowu Aliyu, vice chairman and Alhaji Saheed Ajadi Olarewaju, Secretary.
Other SWC members included Tunde Olugbon, Youth Leader; Barrister Mansurat Omotosho Peace, Women Leader; Abdulkareem Majo, Publicity Secretary; Alhaji Aduagba Olalete, Organising Secretary and Alhaji Ibrahim Ishola Eleran, Financial Secretary.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, the Senatorial Chairman of APC in Kwara Central, Alhaji Jimoh Adesina stressed the need for new executive to carry members of the party along in the scheme of things.
He said the big task ahead of them was to make the leader of the party happy by justifying the confidence reposed in them.
Adesina also warned them against backbiting and other acts that could cause disunity among members of the party.
“You must cooperate with each other and be submissive to the leadership of the party”, he advised.
The representative of the Senate President, Dr Bukoka Saraki, Alhaji Ali Olola appreciated the people of the state for their prayers and support for Saraki at the present critical moment.
While urging the new leadership of APC in the council to work very hard to ensure the victory of the party come 2019 elections, he urged the people of the state to continue to pray for the Senate President so that he could overcome the political persecution he is facing.
In his inaugural speech, Akota described their emergence as a challenge for them to serve the state and promised to work together with all those who contested the positions with him to jointly achieve the set goals.
Akota also promised to carry all members and supporters of APC along by giving them special recognition.
He said he would work for the success of the party through the grassroot units.
He added that the committees would be appointed to design modalities on the progress and development of the party.
