COVID-19: Ex-Kwara Reps candidate, Bankole provides palliatives for constituents

In his bid to cushion the effect of the lockdown imposed by the Kwara State Government as a result of the covid-19 pandemic, a former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for Irepodun/Ekiti/Oke-Ero/Isin Federal Constituency during the last general election, Engr Dare Bankole, has distributed food items and cash donations to his constituents.
Items distributed during the event which held at Aiyedun, the hometown of Bankole include hand sanitizers, rice, garri, semovita and undisclosed cash, among others.
Speaking at the occasion, the former House of Representatives candidate said the gesture became necessary in view of stay-at-home directive by the state government which has negatively affected the social and business activities.
He therefore urged them to support the administration in its effort to curtail the spread of the pandemic.
According to him, the action was not politically motivated but borne out of genuine compassion for his people especially during this difficult time of the Covid-19 adding that it also serves as a means of giving back to the society.
He further advised the people to be law abiding and strictly follow all the directives of the government so far to flatten the curve of the spread.
I will enjoin everyone to continue to pray for the end of the pandemic. But while you stay at home in because of the lockdown in line with the directive of the government, you need food, hand sanitizers and other necessary items including money. So that is why we taught it wise to reach out to you our lovely people as a way of given back to the society in this time of need.
I would urged you to continue to support and corporate with the government to bring a lasting solution to the covid-19

He however called on the people to continue to maintain adequate and proper hygiene and praised the medical officers and personnel at the frontline of the battle for their sacrifices.
In his brief remark during the occasion, the Obajisun of Aiyedun, Oba Olusegun Rotimi thanked Bankole for the reaching out to his people and described him as a grassrooter and philanthropist who always put the people first in whatever he does.
