There is misunderstanding between me and kwara govt – Saliu Mustapha opens up on Isale Jagun -Kuntu Road controversy, says matter being addressed with Works Ministry

Senator representing Kwara Central district, Saliu Mustapha has admitted that the Isale Jagun – Kuntu road project in Ilorin West Local Government which he facilitated led to misunderstanding between him and Kwara state government.
The Senator in a statement made available to newsmen on Wednesday, however said the issue is now being addressed with the state ministry of works and transport.
While taking full responsibility for the misunderstanding between him and the state government, Senator Mustapha said he totally reject the insinuations that Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq stopped the Isale Jagun- Kuntu constituency road project or that any bad blood exists between him and
the Governor, who he described as his elder brother and esteemed leader of their party.
The letter reads in full:
“I have followed some conversations on the constituency project that I facilitated from the
Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
Saliu Mustapha; Indeed, He who brings water, brings life
I wish to state that the information gap and whatever missteps on the said project are
being addressed with the Kwara State Ministry of Works and Transport. As a leader, I take responsibility for the misunderstanding.
To that extent, I totally reject the insinuations that Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq,
CON, stopped the constituency project or that any bad blood exists between myself and
the Governor who is my elder brother and the esteemed leader of our party. The Governor
has done so very well within the circumstances of our state, and I am committed to supporting him to further develop our state, especially the Kwara Central Senatorial District that I represent in the Senate.”
It would be recalled that the Senator who is also the Turaki of Ilorin Emirate had faciliated the building a box culvert along Isale Jagun – Kuntu Road, Ilorin, Kwara State.
This development was brutally halted by the state government through the ministry of works and transport, to the chagrin of the members of the benefitting communities.
