2019: Moshood Mustapha’s constituency meeting flops as members reject cash, emissaries, allege abandonment

A stakeholder’s meetings allegedly on the instance of former member of the House of Representatives for Asa/Ilorin West Federal Constituency reportedly flopped on Sunday as members of his constituency in Alanamu reportedly shunned the gathering.
It was garnered that Mustapha had sent his emissaries to the ward with cash to lure people to do his bidding in preparation for 2019.
MM as he’s fondly called is reportedly highly interested in the gubernatorial ticket of the state next year although he is yet to officially declare his ambition.
Some online reports last night said the former lawmaker earmarked over N5 million for the project.
According to a source in Alanamu who confirmed the issue, MM sent emissaries to the ward to lure some of the people to do his bidding.
“But the people of his constituents shun the money and the emissaries he sent. They alleged that after he had abandoned them for a while, he is now coming to give them money. They rejected those he sent and the cash award. He later came around to visit his mother after the incident”, the source added.
Reacting to issue, Mustapha’s media aide, Kayode AbdulAzeez confirmed that his principal was in Alanamu on Sunday but denied claims that he was shunned by the people.
According to him, “there was nothing like that, he went to Alanamu on Sunday and the meeting held”.
Mustapha is still under suspension by the Kwara State chapter of the APC for six months over alleged anti party activities.
But it was gathered that he is in the forefront of taking over the structure of the party in the advent of the impending defection by the Balogun-Fulani led executives.
