KWIRS bags “Most Enterprising State Internal Revenue Agency of the year” award

Another honour came the way of The Kwara State Internal Revenue Service (KWIRS) as it defeated its counterparts in 35 other states and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja to bag the “Most Enterprising State Internal Revenue Agency of the Year” award.
The award which was presented to KWIRS, yesterday, by The Entrepreneurship and Empowerment Initiative of Nigeria during TEEin summit, in Lagos, was received by the Director of Corporate Affairs, Habeebah Aiyelabegan.
Also decorated for his managerial skills at the event was the Chairman of KWIRS, Dr Muritala Awodun.
The revenue agency which generated N10.6 billion from January – June 2018, was founded in June 2015 by Kwara State Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed with the vision of mobilising revenue for the strategic development of the state.
With a contribution of N530 million monthly, KWIRS has so far provided about N13.5 billion for infrastructural development across the state through the Infrastructural Development Fund (IF-K) which was inaugurated in 2016.
The revenue agency also disclosed recently that it has spent over N52million out of the budgeted sum of N100million on community impact projects across the three senatorial districts of the state, in 2018.
