A former minister of Information and former National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief John Ogar Odey, is dead.
He was said to have passed on early hours of yesterday in a Dubai hospital, United Arab Emirates where he was undergoing treatment, for what was described as cancer-related illness, at the age of 58.
News of his death was announced by National Chairman of the PDP, Uche Secondus, during the national convention of the party at Amasiemaka Stadium, Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
Secondus also called for a one-minute silence for Odey, who was also former minister of Environment and commissioner for Agriculture in Rivers State.
