INEC clears PDP, APC, 3 others for Bye-Election

 

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has cleared five candidates for the bye-Election scheduled for November, 17, 2018 in Kwara State.
The seat of late federal lawmaker, Hon Funke Adedoyin, who represented Irepodun/Ekiti/Oke-Ero/Isin federal constituency became vacant following her demise on September 28, 2018.
Although the commission had said that about eleven parties will take part in the election, those cleared by INEC, according to the list released last week and signed by its Acting Secretary, Okechukwu Ndeche, were five candidates from five political parties.
They include Jimoh Saheed Damilare (PDP), Femi Awokunle Ona-Ara (LP), Olawuyi Raheem Tunji (Ajulo-Opin) of the APC, Ajayi Olayemi Bidemi (PPN) and Olaniyan Taiye Ayorinde (UPN).
Some of the PDP and APC’s candidates have kicked off their campaign for the election which is coming up on Saturday.
