2019: Kwara IPAC faults PDP rigging claims on new polling centres

The Kwara State chapter of the Inter Party Advisory Council (IPAC), has rejected the position of the National leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) that the additional polling centres to be created by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is aimed at rigging the 2019 election.

The chairman of IPAC, Comrade AbdulKareem AbdulMumini Onagun while speaking with Pilot Politics last night on the issue, the opposition parties should not politicise the issue to score cheap political gains, adding that the problems being identified with the ongoing voters registration process should be resolved and not to disenfranchise substantial number of people.

The national leadership of the PDP last week alleged that the plan of INEC was to rig the 2019 election in favour of the ruling All Progresses Congress (APC) adding that the party will outrightly reject the ploy.

But according to Onagun, there is need to create additional polling units for people to register especially in light of the problems associated with the exercise since it started in the state.

He said: โ€œKwara IPAC totally disagree with the opposition party in the allegation that the plan to create additional polling unit is to rig 2019 election.

โ€œThere is no need to politicise the issue because it is obvious that there is the need to create additional polling units for people to register to be eligible voters during the 2019 election.

โ€œWe in Kwara IPAC have made representation to INEC on the slow registration and they assured us of improvementโ€, he added.
