Kwara PDP councillors debunk alleged plan to dump party
The Kwara State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) councillors Forum has debunked allegation that members are planning to dump the party for the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state over a purported statement by Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed.
The Forum in a statement signed by the Kwara State chairman of the Conference of Speakers, Habeeb Olalere Quadri, described it as the handiwork of the opposition and a ‘tall dream’.
The statement said Governor Ahmed has never issued and will never issue such purported statement which was constructed “by some enemies of progress who had never been in the Kingdom of peace.”
“Governor Ahmed is a lover of youths and always make the welfare of his people his top priority. He’s a very good listener not to talk of the State Party Chairman of our great Party, Alhaji Kola Shittu, who had handled the issue tendered by the councillors and seeking for intervention.
“The present serving councillors are core loyalist of Saraki dynasty, divisional statements of such is absolutely false. We urge the peddlers of this fake news to desist from trying to raise issues from where there is none”, the statement added.
