FG begins construction of shopping mall at Ilorin airport

The Federal Government has commenced construction of a multi- million naira shopping mall at the Ilorin International Airport.
Construction work on the shopping mall, sited in front of the administrative block of the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has since begun.
Speaking on the development during a chat with Pilot Aviation, the Airport Manager, Alhaji Ibrahim Abdul-Azeez, stressed that the initiative is targeted at attracting more public patronage to the airport.
The manager who spoke through the Head of Public Affairs, Mr. Adeyeoluwa Oluwakayode said, “FAAN is building the one storey shopping mall to draw more patronage to the airport.
“Lot of goods and services will be offered by the potential shop owners when completed to boost business activities here and I believe the host community will derive benefit too,” he added.
According to him, the project when completed will expand passengers/airport community interactions through services and products sales.
When asked about the cost implication of the project, he promised to get back to our correspondent after confirmation from the appropriate quarters.
He, however, solicited cooperation and support of stakeholders ensuring the growth and development of Ilorin International Airport to world standard.
