2019: JCI cautions Nigerians against violence

A Non Governmental Organisation, Junior Chambers International (JCI) ha urged the electorate to eschew violence during and after the 2019 general elections.
The newly installed President of the organisation Kwara State chapter, Kehinde Paul Ademola gave the charge in his speech during his investiture in Ilorin, recently.
“Let me use this opportunity to remind us that the election is barely a month away, therefore as a responsible organisation, we are appealing to Nigerians to conduct themselves in a civilised manner to prevent will crisis,” he said.
The president pledged that the JCI that will continue to sensitize the public most especially the youths against political violence and thuggery among other electoral vices.
“A great approach is needed to address these challenge and JCI Kwara chapter will take up responsibility as advocate for peace and prosperity.
On the mission of JCI he said, “Through the training received and our commitment to the Global goals for development model, this will give us passion for project and strategies to create sustainability in the year 2019.”
He stressed that the organization provides development opportunity that empowers young people to create positive change. I wish you join us today and get inspire.
According to him some of the few project proposed for this year includes political campaign, HIV/ AIDS Awareness in market places and feeding of the less priviledged.
Others are keep Kwara clean programme, engagement of unemployed youths by way of job creation in parternship with other NGOs, training of students, community development and free medical checkup in communities among others.
