From the University of Ilorin and the embattled chairman of the Kwara State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Prof Sheu Abdulraheem Adaramaja came separate responses to the accusation of the double salary saga rocking the institution and its Staff.
Professor Adaramaja who is at the centre of the controversy was until his appointment, as Chairman of KWSUBEB an employee of the University of Ilorin as lecturer in the department of Health Promotion and Environmental Health Education.
According to a report by an online medium, freshinsight supported by document and which also detailed how Adaramaja has continued to receive salaries from the school in a clear contravention of extant laws more than three months after his new appointment.
Adaramaja, the report added, received salaries for the month of January, February and March and part of April, 2021 as an employee of Unilorin via the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System (IPPIS) platform.
“While he also received March 2021 salary as the KWSUBEB Chairman, even though he received his backdated letter just 2 days to the ending of the month”.
But responding to separate text messages from our reporter last night, while the school neither confirmed nor denied the development adding that “It was not aware Adaramaja was still drawing salaries from the varsity even after his SUBEB appointment, the Prof however directed us to “find out from the two establishments”, University of Ilorin and SUBEB.
The Director of Corporate Affairs, University of Ilorin, Mr. Kunle Akogun, simply replied “I am not aware he (is receiving salary from the University of Ilorin after his SUBEB appointment).
